India's poor are poorer and India's rich are richer. The gap widening them is wider than the mighty Ganges that flows through it. While rich can afford to buy villas and apartments with 4/5 Bedrooms, private garden, private swimming pool; its poor can't even afford to rent a decent house. In a free democratic economy like India this gap does mean that when the number of rich increases the number of poor also increases by two-fold.

This picture shows a small family of three living in a single room with not even a re-inforced roof over their head. This kid doesn't have any playmates to be with, his mother doesn't have enough resources to live with, his father doesn't have a decent earning job to run the family....

The story has just begun for them...

Unity in Diversity

India is famous for its unity in diversity.

It is a place where diverse people such as diverse geographical location, diverse beliefs, diverse languages, diverse cultures intermingle and preach a single Indian Union.

This photo made me remind me that thoughts. Seen in this picture is a small temple and a small church built in proximity of each other. People of either beliefs seems to co-exist here.

I could not stand laughing after reading every line written there. But after a small thought came to the conclusion that they have their niche of customers; the labour class which are working in the cities. This makes us think the standards of living the labour class "enjoys" in our big cities.

The rich and middle class can afford the costly medicines but the erstwhile farmers (most of the labour class workers are ex-farmers who lost their interest and money in agriculture) as they did get only meager wages.

Man is a social animal, so is other animals. But we are masters of building durable architectural wonders that no other animals are capable of doing.

But the durability comes at a price which is not affordable to most. Then the alternative is to build nest-like houses and live in them. The rich lives adorningly in the expense of the poor.
